Transparency International ranks Nigeria 136th most corrupt country in the world

Transparency International has ranked Nigeria the 136th most corrupt country in the world and the 3rd most corrupt country in West Africa after Guinea and Guinea Bissau.

In its 2014 Transparency International Corruption Perception Index released today December 3rd, the group said it ranked 174 countries it surveyed based on how corrupt their public sector is presumed to be. The measurement is based on a scale of 0 to 100 with a score of 0 perceived as "highly corrupt" and 100 "very clean". Nigeria was ranked 136th with an index score of 27.

I Smuggled Drugs To Send My Children To School

A suspected smuggler arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency attached to the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, has told investigators that he took to drug trafficking to send his children to school. Punch reports that the 48-year-old suspect, Chukwuenyem Obi, was apprehended alongside a mother of seven, Ifeoma Ezeano and two others – Gilbert Kelvin and Michael Okafor– with narcotics weighing 41.6 kilogrammes.The NDLEA said the street value of the drugs was N374.6m.

Unmarried pregnant girls are ostracized and sometimes take drastic measures, said Amy Sakho, who runs a drop-in center for women for the Senegalese Association of Women Jurists (AJS).

"They leave the infants out in the middle of the forest to starve to death or get eaten by wild animals," Sakho said. " Others strangle them or throw them in the septic tank."

Rapper Xzibit married his long time girlfriend Krista Joiner on Saturday Nov. 29th in LA and a few hours after that, he arrested for DUI.

According to TMZ, the Pimp My Ride presenter was arrested in Laguna Beach, immediately following his wedding reception after he, his bride and their wedding guests partied hard at the St. Regis Monarch Beach.

As he left his reception, he was pulled over for speeding when officers detected the smell of alcohol. He was cuffed and taken to the station. The police then released this nice mugshot of him..lol.

According to a report in a Canadian medical journal, a woman who was sick and was being treated in a Canadian hospital had 120 maggots removed from her eyes and nose after fly laid eggs in her eyes and nose..

"During the period, an adult fly (a green blow fly or a green bottle fly) was seen in the intensive care unit. The patient was in a windowless private room that had an open door. The intensive care unit had no windows to the outdoors; thus, it was assumed that the fly had entered the intensive care unit from another part of the hospital. The fly must have left the eggs in her nose and eyelid."

Doctors removed 120 maggots from her eyes and nose. This happened a long time ago - in 2007 - but the images were recently released. If you have the stomach to look at it, then continue...

Olusegun Aganga who is the minister of trade and investment has commended Innoson Vehicles Company (IVC)  for producing the first Nigeria-made vehicles named IVM Fox and IVM UMU.
Speaking at the weekend during the presentation of the new cars, Aganga said that by producing a truly made-in Nigeria car, the company has put Nigeria in the global map of car manufacturing countries.
IVC located in Nnewi, Anambra State. Chief Willie Obiano, Anambra State governor, added that the initiative and efforts of the managing director and chief executive officer of the company, Dr. Innocent Chukwuma in expanding the state’s industrial base.
